Acronymed as AKMU the band made its debut under YG Entertainment in the year 2014 in April. They debuted with their studio album play. The members of the band include a South Korean Sibling Duo called Lee Su-Hyun and Lee Chan-Hyuk. The sibling duo debuted after winning the title of K-Pop Star 2nd the season. Surprisingly, their debut album was a hit show and the album had 6.9 million downloads. The same debut album was also titled the Best Pop Album in the 12th season of the Korean Music Awards. The duo later released two more albums called Winter and Spring which contributed to their more successful presence in the Korean Music Industry.
According to surveys conducted in March in the year 2017, the duo has managed to sell around 23 million digital sales across the entire country of South Korea.
The duo released an original song called Galaxy that was later used by Samsung as the soundtrack for their Samsung S4Film commercial in the year 2013 in May.
In 2012, the duo auditioned for K-pop Star 2 where they qualified for the preliminary round and made it to the first round.
They sang the cover of Breath by Miss A. they also sang an original song called Don’t cross your legs on the show. they were not only praised for their sibling bonding but also for their strategies used to incorporate different singing styles into the show.

The band has two members who happen to be siblings. Lee Chan-Hyuk happens to be the lead vocal, lyricist, rapper, and composer, and even acts as a producer for the songs. Lee Su-Hyun on the other hand happens to manage the main vocals of the band.
Although they are different from other south Korean k-pop bands because the band is composed of two members only and both of them share a blood relation, they have still managed to retain their fame.

Lee Chan-Hyuk was born in the year 1996 on the 12th of September in Goyang-Si in South Korea.
Lee Su-Hyun happens to be the young sibling among the two and was born in the year 1999 on the 4rth of May.

Winter was released by the duo later after a gap of three long years in the year 2017.

The band’s first live tour was called AKMU Camp. It started in the year 2014 on the 21st of November with Seoul as the first location. The tour continued till the 31st of December the same year with Busan as the last location.
AKMU studio was the second tour which too started in November in the year 2016 with Taipei as the first location.
The tour ended on the 26th of December with Kuala Lumpur as the last location.
AKMU Diary tour commenced on 23rd March in the year 2017 in Seoul and concluded on 22nd July in the year 2017 in Goyang.
AKMU’s latest tour was sailing which commenced on the 14th of December in the year 2019 and concluded on the 29th of March in 2020.
